Approved indications
- Symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
- Treatment of mild to moderate hypertension, as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
Contraindications
Absolute
- Hypersensitivity to terazosin or other quinazolines (e.g., prazosin, doxazosin). History of micturition syncope.
Clinical warnings
- Major warning · Risk of postural hypotension and syncope ('first-dose effect'), especially at the start of treatment or when increasing the dose. Administer the first dose at bedtime. — AEMPS CIMA
Drug interactions

Mechanism: Additive vasodilation via alpha-1 blockade and PDE-5 inhibition, increasing the risk of symptomatic hypotension.
Recommendation: Use with caution. Initiate both drugs at the lowest dose. Monitor blood pressure, especially at initiation. Separate administration times if possible.
